The one thing to know about this place...
9/20/2007
Kirk Herlitz: I went there for the first time not long after they opened in 2006 and was really impressed - the quality of everything was great, as was the service and the atmosphere. I love the fact that they keep the menu changing based seasonal ingredients.

Yi M: At lunch, they have a particularly delicious cheeseburger with just the right amount of mayonnaise (sorry, I refuse to call it aioli). The bar has a extensive selection of drinks, including a perfectly made bellini. Calamari was a little boring, though...not much better than what you'd find at one of those Applebee's/Fridays/Chili's type places. Stick with the cheeseburger. Washed down with a bellini.

Nick Moore: Someday, I will go here.

Annie Chang: Sharing small plates of apps has never been more fun! Try the diablo shrimp -- beautiful presentation with a kick.

Howard Park: Bustling contemporary Mediterranean specializing in small plates and brick oven pizza in upscale Romanesque setting.

Leilani: Great wine list!

George: This is my favorite restaurant in Redwood City. It has a great open atmosphere, a nice bar, good service, and good food. I know small plates is widely regarded as being overdone, but somehow Mandaloun manages to be both upscale and not pretentious.

JP Park: Yummy beef tartare and brick-oven pizza! Avoid the french fries, they taste uneasily like churros. Can be super loud.

Adam Rifkin: Hummus with wood fired bread, and any small plate, make ideal appetizers to share before the main (wood fired) course. The short ribs are delicious, too. After dinner, walk over to Beard Papa for coffee and cream puffs!
